Dr. Amal Yaakoub is the Quality Manager at the National Reference Laboratories (NRL) of the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), where she leads quality, compliance, and laboratory excellence initiatives across a broad range of pharmaceutical and healthcare products. With more than 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical quality, quality control, laboratory operations, and regulatory compliance, she has held leadership positions in both industry and government sectors.

Her expertise spans analytical testing, method validation, technology transfer, quality systems, data integrity, computerized system validation, and ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory management. Dr. Yaakoub is a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, a qualified auditor for ISO/IEC 17025 systems, and a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), with a particular interest in GAMP 5, digital transformation, and emerging technologies in regulated environments.

She is also a Board member of the Biotechnology Advisory Council at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK). Her professional focus includes advancing pharmaceutical quality through innovation, laboratory digitalization, risk-based quality management, and regulatory science.
