Dr. Katya Nabeel Ailabouni currently serves as the Head of the National Medical Product Vigilance Section at the Emirates Drug Establishment (since November 2024).

She holds a Master of Clinical Pharmacy (2024) from Al Ain University, UAE, and a B.Sc. in Pharmacy (1999) from Philadelphia University, Jordan.

Dr. Katya brings over two decades of experience in regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance. From January 2004 to November 2024, she worked at the UAE Ministry of Health within the Registration and Drug Control Department.

Between January 2005 and December 2008, she served as a Registration Officer, overseeing new drug applications, renewal of registrations, minor variations, manufacturing facility registrations, and local manufacturer registrations.

From December 2008 to November 2024, she held the role of Pharmacovigilance Officer and served as a reporter for the UAE National Pharmacovigilance Committee.

Earlier in her career, from November 1999 to May 2003, Dr. Katya worked as a Pharmacist-in-Charge in community pharmacies.
